There are too many encounters during each day to put in a blog post. However, here are some notes of some of the friendly people we have met so far.
- As we walk through the little villages the locals put out 1 liter bottles of water for pilgrims to take.
- We walked with a 50 year old man from Sweden who started his walk from his front door in April. He walked across Germany, Switzerland, and France. His wife met him in Burgos.
- We ate with a late 20's couple from Alberta who are walking the Camino one week each year until they finish.
- We ate with a college girl from Germany who was alone on her second Camino. Her feet looked like she had walked on hot coals. Later as she did her first aid, she wanted to know all about the Appalachian Trail for next year.
- We stopped for a cocoa in the "Cowboy Bar" in El Ganso. The owner claims to be the last of the Cabillaros in Spain. He collects cowboy hats. The only other business in the village is called "The Other Bar"
- Today's memory is of a Lithuanian college guy who spotted Laurel's Tennessee coat. He spent two weeks in Knoxville in January and loved the mountains. We passed each other several times today and he was bubbly with joy seeing the power T each time. Hola TENNESSEE!"
- Several other people have called out "Tennessee" on seeing Laurel's jacket --- European and American.
Buen Camino!
