Day 8: O'Cebreiro to Monastery of San Xulián de Samos

Lots of pictures and not many words tonight so I can get to bed. We had a hard walk down hill but beautiful weather.

The monastery of St Julian of Samos is an active Benedictine monastery in Samos, Galicia, Spain. It was founded in the sixth century and had 300-400 monks plus students. Now there are 8 monks.

Shane spent several days in the monestsry for 2012 youth day.

The Latin inscription over the library door reads  “A cloister without a library is like a castle without an armory.”. The love of books is not a new concept. (thinking of Shane).
